NBC renews Smash for a second season

120322-Smash-McPhee

Sorry Katharine McPhee haters, looks like the American Idol alum's got a steady TV gig for a little while longer. The Peacock network announced today that its musical drama, Smash, would be getting a much-coveted sophomore year in the 2012-2013 TV season.

According to TV Line, the order is for a 15-episode season which would follow Marilyn the Musical to Broadway and put it to the test with Big Apple audiences. (The current season has the show heading out of town to gauge audience reactions.)

With a second season confirmed, there's only one question to ask: Are you Team Karen or Team Ivy?
