Ok to the person who rambled on about god and Leonard Cohen and the fix it stuff. Hate to tell you this, but, Cohen is an atheist So I quess you will have to fix it your self.

I forget one last thing Mr God boy. Cohen is not 'Merican. Yup it is true, he is not one of you, he is one of us. CANADIAN!! Born and raised in Montreal.
You lose on all counts. That's ok though, your god wanted you to be ignorant.

Leonard Cohen, I am helpless in my attraction to your music. It grabs me and pulls me in . . . . don't know exactly where to but I am there. . . . the gravelly monotone, the hoarse baritone, the lyrics that cut deep into the soul, the groove that's stronger than ever, the barely contained emotion creeping out of every phrase, the mystery of the stories, the gentle swing in the tunes. Each song is a portal to a place I want to go. I have loved you forever and the candle is now rekindled.

As usual I'm totally absorbed by Leonard's music. And he sure is a Canadian, followed him when he read poetry at McGill in Montreal, hah hum in the 60's........

How do you describe this? Modern classic? Perfection? More of what i want?
I am not sure but ...
Mr. Cohen,
You have brought me through a past life and the final divorce. You have let me play music with a troop of dancers from Montreal circling me and listening to your music through my mouth.
You have allowed us all to share a sliver of your life and allowed us to expand on this in our minds. You have flowered the desert and dried the forest. You have turned us to G-d and humbled us in front of our maker.
Thank-you for all of this and so much more. I wish I could express myself better.
I would take my hat off to you as you pass me on the street.

Another masterpiece by Leonard; his music is really timeless. I first became captivated by his music in the early
70's. My wife and I have seen him live twice, the first time about 1976 and then again in 2010. He never disappoints and is always the consummate professional. He really is a gift to us all with his "golden voice".
One never tires of his music.
Well done Leonard !!!! Love you.

I fell in love with Leonard Cohen when I read the lyrics for Bird on a Wire in a friend's songbook in 1974. As Cookie Maker said.....I was helpless in my addiction to Cohen.... from that very moment. What you wrote above is as if you looked into my soul, and described my feelings about Cohen's poetry and music! This new album is a sacrament.....a prayer.....Cohen at his finest! Best ever if that's possible. I cherish every word....every note...every emotion....every deep place evoked. Thank you Mr. Leonard Cohen.
